Welcome to the Niagara Region Housing Services Applicant Portal. 

IMPORTANT: If you have already applied for housing you cannot create a new account.  The only way to gain access to your current application is to email us at housing@niagararegion.ca and we will send you a unique link that is connected to your current application.

Please review the following information before you start your online application.

Your information is collected under the authority of the Housing Services Act, 2011 for the purpose of assessing eligibility for the centralized wait list. Any personal information will be collected, used, and disclosed, where applicable, by members of Regional staff in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. M.56. Any information you share will be used only for the intended purpose for which it was provided. You have the right to consent to how your information will be collected, used and shared, including the right to withhold or withdraw consent, unless Niagara Region is required by law to disclose it.

How to Register

To apply online, you need to create an account with an active email address by clicking on "Begin Online Application Now" to register/create your online account. 

Your email address will need to be verified before you can complete your application so you will need immediate and ongoing access to this email. Only one email address per household is required.  Once registered, the primary applicant can create, save and submit a housing application, as well as update their application by logging in with the user name and password created during the registration process.

If you already have an account, you can simply log in to continue or update your application by clicking on "Update/Continue Existing Application".

Your application will not be submitted until you agree to the consent and declaration. You will see a confirmation screen once your application has been submitted. 

 

Before you start your application

You will need to have the following information and documents on hand:

For the Household

You will need to provide:

  • Your current address OR if no current address, a mailing address
  • Contact information – phone numbers, e-mail address where we can reach you

For each Household Member

You will need to provide:

  • Full legal name (as it shows on their Status in Canada document)
  • Date of Birth
  • Status in Canada (you are required to attach a copy of a Canadian Citizenship document, Canadian Birth Certificate, Proof of Permanent Residency or Proof of Refugee Claimant Status).  See the list of acceptable forms of identification.
  • Income Information (please include a copy of the most recent Notice of Assessment from Canada Revenue Agency and any other documents that confirm the source and amount of income received).  For example: bank statements from the past two months, employment paystubs, Ontario Works statement, ODSP statement, etc.
